TOWSON, Md. – Towson University baseball (4-13) hosted Niagara (11-7) in game two of the series at John B. Schuerholz Park Saturday afternoon, falling to the Purple Eagles, 13-8, to set up the Sunday rubber match.
Niagara started with one run in the second and four in the fifth to take a lead. In the home half of the fourth, the Tigers tied the game at five.
Elijah Dickerson's bases-clearing double to left field plated the final three runs to tie the game. The Purple Eagles added two more in the sixth and four in the seventh to make it an 11-5 game.
Devan Barnett hit a pinch-hit solo home run in the eighth, bringing the Tigers' runs to six. Two RBI hits in the top of the ninth pushed the Niagara advantage to 13-6. The Tigers got two back in the bottom of the inning on a wild pitch and RBI single for a 13-8 final in favor of the Purple Eagles.

- Towson reliever Jordan Luton (1-1) took the loss in relief, allowing two unearned runs on one hit with three walks issued.
- Niagara reliever Ryan Minckler (2-0) recorded the win with two earned runs allowed on four hits and one walk. Minckler added five strikeouts in the appearance.
How it Happened:
- Niagara took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Two singles put runners on the corners, setting up Hutchins' RBI single to center field.
- The Purple Eagles extended the lead to five runs in the fourth inning. A lead-off double and sacrifice bunt led to Kozar's RBI single through the left side to start the inning. A pair of RBI hits and a throwing error scored three more in the frame.
- Towson evened the score in the home half. Two bases-loaded walks scored the first two runs of the frame before Elijah Dickerson's bases-clearing double to left field to tie the game.
- Niagara pushed the score to 7-5 in the sixth inning, capped by an RBI single through the left side.
- The Purple Eagles tacked on four more runs on three hits in the seventh inning to extend their lead to six.
- Devan Barnett came in as a pinch hitter to lead of the bottom of the seventh and hit a home run to right field to pull the deficit to five.
