TOWSON, Md. – Towson softball picked up a 4-3 extra inning win against Morgan State on Tuesday afternoon, thanks to an RBI single from
Grace Franczyk in the eighth inning. Towson fell behind twice during the game, but got a big RBI hit late to tie it and win it in extra innings.
Towson (13-18) was led by Franczyk who went 3-4 from the plate including the game-winning RBI against the Lady Bears (16-13). With the win, head coach
Lisa Costello is just one win away from
800 for her career.

- Franczyk led the Tigers with three hits including two doubles and an RBI in the win.
- Mackenzie Lake also had a multi-hit game going 2-4 with an RBI triple that tied the game.
- Erin Brown picked up her third win of the year going 4.2 innings of relief allowing just one hit with one strikeout.
How It Happened:
- Both starting pitchers held off the other early on. Morgan State would take an early lead capitalizing on a Towson error to take a 2-0 lead.
- Towson would answer in the third. With the bases loaded, Cori Jones came up clutch with a two-RBI double that scored Kellie Zoerb and Mackenzie Lake to tie the game at 2-2.
- After Morgan State retook the lead in the fourth, Mackenzie Lake would tie it back up in the bottom of the inning. Grace Franczyk led off with a double and advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Lake then came up and smashed a triple to center that scored Franczyk to tie it against 3-3.
- In the sixth, Towson got the go-ahead run to second after a one-out double from Franczyk, but she would be left on base.
- Neither side could get a base runner in the seventh as the game headed to extra innings.
- In the extra frame, Erin Brown retired the side to give Towson a chance to walk it off.
- Cara Bohner led off the bottom of the eighth with a single to right and would advance on a sacrifice bunt from Sydni Byers.
- Just two batters later, Grace Franczyk laced a single to left that scored Bohner to give Towson a 4-3 win on Tuesday.
