STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Towson softball dropped the series opener against the Seawolves, 11-3 on Friday afternoon.
Ally Hickman drove two runs with an RBI single in the fourth to give Towson the brief lead.
Towson (13-19, 4-6 CAA) had five different players record a hit against the Seawolves (14-13, 4-6 CAA) with Hickman and
Grace Franczyk each driving in a run.

How It Happened:
- Both teams had trouble finding offense early with just three hits combined over the first two innings.
- Stony Brook threatened in the third getting runners to second and third, but the Tigers got out of the jam to keep it scoreless.
- Towson would strike with a pair of runs in the fourth. Cara Bohner led off the inning reaching on a fielding error and advanced on a passed ball. After a Sydni Byers walk, Ally Hickman laced a single to left that scored Bohner. Byers would come around to score after an error on the play to make it 2-0 Tigers.
- However, the Seawolves would respond with ten runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 10-2 lead into the fifth.
- The Tigers would load the bases in the fifth and get a run on a Grace Franczyk RBI single to cut it to 10-3. However, Stony Brook would score in the bottom of the frame to defeat the Tigers 11-3.
