INDIANAPOLIS – Towson University swimmer
Brian Benzing competed in the 100-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday, qualifying third overall in preliminary heats with a time of 50.92 at IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Benzing broke his own Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) record of 51.25 from the 2023 CAA Championships with that preliminary time.
In the evening's finals session, Benzing placed 2
nd overall with a time of 50.59, resetting his all-time CAA record from the morning for a silver-medal finish.
Benzing earned All-American status in the 100 breaststroke, just the third Towson swimmer to ever earn the distinction, along with Meredith Budner (2011) and Jack Saunderson (2018).
