TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team (8-23, 3-6 CAA) hosted Georgetown (23-9, 5-1 Big East) Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Hoyas 8-4 in 11 innings at John B. Schuerholz Park.
Taye Robinson put Towson on the board in the first inning and the Tigers maintained that lead through the first five innings. Georgetown took a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning and the Tigers scored on a sacrifice fly in the home half to cut the deficit to one. Towson tied the game in the seventh, scoring a run on a ground-out. In extra innings, Georgetown put up five runs on five hits in the eleventh. The Tigers got one run back in the bottom frame, sending the game to an 8-4 final.

- In the home half, a pair of singles and a walk set up Chris Akers' sacrifice fly to center field to pull the Tigers within one run.
- Towson tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, scoring a run on a double-play ground-out with the bases loaded.
- With the game tied at four after nine innings, it went to extras.
- Georgetown posted five runs on five hits in the 11th inning, driving in four on three hits.
- The Tigers were able to get one run across in the bottom half, sending the game to an 8-4 final in favor of the Hoyas.
