TOWSON, Md.- The Towson University tennis team hosted the Delaware State Hornets on Saturday afternoon in Towson's regular season finale. The Tigers were edged by the Hornets 4-3. In singles action,
Sania Suchinsky won in straight sets, while
Olivia Rothfeld won her match in a tiebreaking set. In doubles action,
Lea Kosanovic and
Chandré Boshoff picked up a 6-2 win at flight one, while
Mya Spencer and
Ashira Murray won 7-5 at flight two. Towson will head to Elon, North Carolina for the CAA Championship, which starts on Wednesday, April 24th.
"The team gave an awesome effort against a very solid Delaware State team. Extremely competitive winning the doubles point in come back style. Singles we played with heart and competitiveness just fell a little short of a great win", said head coach
Jamie Peterson.
