COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Towson softball fell in their last midweek game of the year, 11-2 at Maryland on Wednesday night. The Tigers took an early lead, but the Terps scored 11 straight to defeat the Tigers.

Towson (20-28) capitalized on an early Maryland error, but Terrapins defeated the Tigers on Wednesday.

Key Stats:

• Grace Franczyk drove in a run for the Tigers in the first inning on a sacrifice fly.
• Cori Jones and Elizabeth Yoskowitz each had a hit and a run in contest with Isabella Canesi and Mackenzie Lake also having a hit.

How It Happened:

• Towson wasted little time getting on the board. Elizabeth Yoskowitz led off with a single and later scored after a Maryland error on a ball hit by Cara Bohner made it 1-0. Cori Jones would score on the very next pitch with a Grace Franczyk sacrifice fly to give Towson a 2-0 lead.
• However, the Terrapins would put up five runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 5-2 lead.
• Maryland would add to their lead, taking a 10-2 lead after two innings.
• Towson would get the leadoff runner on base in every inning but the fifth, but the Terrapins would defeat the Tigers 11-2 on Wednesday.

• The Tigers will return home for the final home series of the season against league leading Delaware this weekend. The Tigers and Blue Hens will play three in three days with the Tigers honoring five seniors after the series finale on Sunday.
