TOWSON, Md. – Towson softball closed out their 2024 homestand with a pair of losses against the Blue Hens on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers and Blue Hens resumed their suspended game from Saturday before playing the scheduled finale.
Towson (20-31, 8-16 CAA) was led by
Grace Franczyk who had a pair of home runs for the Tigers, one in each game against Delaware.
GAME ONE: Delaware 4, Towson 1

How It Happened:
- Towson threatened in the first inning getting a runner to second, but a ground out ended the inning.
- Delaware struck first with a three-run double in the third inning, just before the game was suspended due to heavy rain.
- The two teams continued the game on Sunday afternoon where Grace Franczyk cut the deficit to 3-1 with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
- However, the Blue Hens added a run in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead, winning by that same score.
GAME TWO: Delaware 10, Towson 1 (F/5)

How It Happened:
- Delaware struck first getting a pair of runs in their half of the first inning.
- Grace Franczyk cut the deficit in half with a leadoff solo home run in the bottom of the second, her second home run of the day.
- The Blue Hens would put up eight runs in the fourth to take a 10-1 lead.
- Ally Hickman would get on base with a single and get to second on a fielding error, but the inning would end on a pop out.
- The Blue Hens would defeat the Tigers 10-1 in five innings in the series finale.
