WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Towson University baseball team finished their Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series vs. William & Mary Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park. The Tigers (14-38, 4-19 CAA) fell 9-3 vs. Tribe (29-22, 12-12 CAA) in the series finale in Williamsburg, Va.
William & Mary got on the board first with three runs on three hits in the bottom of the first inning.
Elijah Dickerson's RBI single up the middle scored one for Towson in the top of the second. The Tigers pulled within one run in the top of the third on
Jordan Peyton's RBI single to center. The Tribe scored two on back-to-back wild pitched in the home half to make it a 5-2 game.
Brian Heckelman's bases-loaded walk plated a third run for the Tigers in the top of the seventh. William & Mary added four runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth, starting with by Parker's bases-clearing double down the third base line. Three of the first four Towson batters went down in the ninth for a 9-3 final at Plumeri Park.
Key Stats:
- Towson starter Ryder Jeske (1-2) took the loss, surrendering five earned runs on five hits and five free passes (2 BB, 3 HBP) in the 3.2 inning outing. Jeske added four strikeouts in the start.
- William & Mary pitcher Travis Garnett (3-0) recorded the win in relief, allowing one earned run on two hits and four free passes issued (2 BB, 2 HBP) in his 2.2 inning appearance. William & Mary reliever Alex Markus recorded the save, surrendering one hit and two walks in a 2.2 inning scoreless outing. Markus added four strikeouts.
How it Happened:
- William & Mary started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. With a runner on third, Delossantos' single to short pushed the first run across. Greco followed with a home run to right center to make it a 3-0 game.
- Towson responded in the second. With runners on first and second, Elijah Dickerson's single up the middle cut the deficit to two runs.
- With runners on the corners in the top of the fourth, Jordan Peyton's single to center pulled the Tigers within one run.
- A pair of wild pitches with runners on second and third in the bottom of the fourth pushed the Tribe's lead to 5-2.
- Brian Heckelman picked up an RBI on a bases-loaded walk in the top of the seventh to make it a 5-3 game.
- With the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth, Parker's double down the third base line cleared the bases to extend the Tribe's lead to 8-3. Delossantos doubled to right center, pushing the lead to six runs.
- In the top of the ninth, Brian Heckelman got on-base by way of a two-out walk. Ryan Williamson's pinch-hit strikeout ended the game with a 9-3 final in favor of the Tribe.

The Tigers host North Carolina A&T in the final CAA series of the season at John B. Schuerholz Park starting Thursday at 3 p.m. Game two is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday. Game three on Saturday is set for 1 p.m. with Senior Day ceremonies prior to first pitch.
