Towson Women’s Soccer Falls to George Washington

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University soccer team welcomed the George Washington Revolutionaries to Tiger Field. The Tigers (1-2-1) fell to the Revolutionaries (1-2-1) 3-0 on Sunday night.
 
Towson created early chances, but couldn't find the back of the net. The Revolutionaries scored two goals midway through the first half and added a third in second half to win the match.

  • Kale'a Perry and Kendall Liermann each led Towson with two shots.
  • The Tigers had the slight edge in corner kicks, 7-6.

  • The Tigers had an early chance when Demi Pierre headed back a cross to Courtney Butlion who fired a shot off the crossbar.
  • George Washington found the back of the net in the 24th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
  • A minute later the Revolutionaries doubled their lead on a shot that curled into the top corner.
  • Towson tried to respond right away on a counterattack, bur Kale'a Perry had her shot saved at the near post by GW's Kate Silverstien.
