TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University soccer team hosted the Florida Gators at Tiger Field on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (2-2-2) drew the Gators (2-0-3) 1-1 after
Maja Hansson scored the tying goal with ten seconds remaining in the second half to secure Towson's first result against a SEC team.
In the first half, the teams went back-and-forth, but couldn't find the net. The Gators scored early in the second half. Florida had their goalie sent off in the 69th minute and Towson capitalized with ten seconds left as
Maja Hansson scored the equalizer.

- The Gators had six yellow cards and one red card while Towson had only two yellow cards.
- Towson outshot the Gators nine to seven.

How It Happened vs Florida:
- The Tigers created an early chance when Courtney Butlion fired a shot from outside the box, but her shot was saved by Alex Goldberg.
- The teams battled back and forth, until Riley Melendez had to make a save in the 39th minute on a free kick.
- Florida had a late chance in the first half, but both shots were blocked by Towson defenders.
- The Gators found the back of the net in the 47th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
- Butlion tried to find an equalizer in the 54th minute, but was denied by a Florida defender on the post.
- In the 69th minute, Florida's goalkeeper Jayden Emmanuel received a red card for tackling Kale'a Perry as Perry was going for the ball.
- Perry took the ensuing free kick just outside the box, but the shot was saved by Goldberg.
- In the 70th minute, the Tigers got off three shots, but all were off target, including a Maja Hansson shot that went off the left post.
- A Florida yellow card gave Towson a free kick on the left edge of the box with 17 seconds left. Brooke Birrell's cross went to the back post where Malin Bernt Schöps had the ball bounce off her and Hansson tapped the loose ball into a wide open net to secure a 1-1 draw for Towson.
