TOWSON, Md. – Towson University volleyball player
Ylenia De Mango has been named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
De Mango averaged 1.91 blocks per set, with 21 total blocks across 11 sets during the Tiger Invitational. The senior amassed 6 against Loyola in Friday's first contest before matching her season high with eight in the evening match vs. Coppin State. On Saturday, De Mango totaled seven blocks facing Seton Hall to bring her season tally to 48.
De Mango now leads the CAA in total blocks and ranks third in blocks per set, averaging 1.26.
Among NCAA Division I leaders, De Mango stands tied for 18th among total block leaders.

Towson opens CAA play against William & Mary this Saturday at 6 p.m. at TU Arena. The Tigers and Tribe will face off in a second match on Sunday at 2 p.m.
