TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team hosted Delaware in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play on Friday evening. The Tigers (5-14, 3-5 CAA) outscored the Blue Hens (4-14, 1-7 CAA) 21-14 and 20-7 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, for a 62-48 win at TU Arena.
India Johnston led all scorers with 23 points, shooting 4-9 from behind the arc.
Anasia Staton recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

How it Happened

- Khady Leye had four of the Tigers final six of the quarter on a pair of jumpers.
- A Delaware jumper with five seconds left in the quarter gave the Blue Hens a 16-13 lead at the first quarter break.
- The Blue Hens started the second quarter on a 10-0 run to extend their lead to 26-13.
- The Tigers answered with six straight, including four from Staton, to cut the deficit to seven.
- Towson went into the locker room down 27-21 at the half.
- After Delaware pushed the lead to 31-21 with two-straight buckets out of the half, Towson went on a 13-2 run to take a 34-33 lead.
- The Tigers closed the quarter on a 6-2 run to take a 42-41 lead into the final quarter.
- The Black & Gold came out hot to start the fourth quarter, with Johnston's six and Kayla Morris' two pushing the lead to 50-41.
- The Tigers closed the game on an 8-2 run over the final 3:05 to win 62-48 at TU Arena.
