CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Towson University men's basketball team took on the College of Charleston Cougars on Saturday afternoon in TD Arena. The Tigers (6-9, 1-1 CAA) dropped the CAA contest 77-69 to the Cougars (12-3, 2-0 CAA).
Tyler Tejada finished with 22 points on 9-of-18 (50%) shooting, knocking down four three-pointers.
Tomiwa Sulaiman had 15 points on 6-of-12 (50%) shooting while adding four rebounds.

- Charleston went 24-of-26 (92.3%) from the free throw line.
- Towson and Charleston each grabbed 35 rebounds.

How It Happened vs Charleston:
- The Cougars opened the game with an 8-2 run, but the Tigers cut the lead down to two highlighted by a Christian May three-pointer.
- Charleston extended its lead to seven, then a Tyler Tejada triple and a Nendah Tarke layup cut the deficit back down to two with 13:10 left in the first half.
- The teams went back-and-forth exchanging baskets until the Cougars went on a 17-8 run to lead by 13.
- Mekhi Lowery and Tomiwa Sulaiman each made a basket at the end of the half as Towson trailed 39-30 at the break.
- The Cougars scored seven of the first ten points to start the second half, but the Tigers responded with a 11-4 run led by a pair of Lowery baskets to cut the deficit down to six with 12:59 remaining.
- Charleston scored nine of the next 11 points to extend its lead.
- Towson countered with a 6-1 run to trail 60-52 with 8:30 left in the second half.
- The teams battled back-and-forth for the next couple of minutes then Tejada hit a three-pointer with two minutes remaining.

- The Tigers cut Charleston's lead down to six twice in the final minute, but Charleston had an answer each time to hand the Tigers a 77-69 loss.
