Elon, N.C. –
Kale'a Perry put away a dazzling ball from outside the 18-yard box for the lone Tiger goal on the day but the Elon Phoenix defeated the Towson University women's soccer team 3-1.
In the event the Tiger's fate lies in the three-seed over Hofstra, the Tigers would need a better result next week than the Pride to secure their spot.
"There was good energy in the first half. KP created several very dangerous chances. She capitalized when
Emma Levin played her the ball about twenty-five yards out. KP had a beautiful finish," said Towson head coach
Katherine Vettori. "In the second half, we outshot Elon 11-4, but made two big mistakes that resulted in their two second half goals. As discussed this entire season, we can't make mistakes like these in conference play. On a positive note, we are still in the hunt for postseason play and look forward to our next match at Drexel."
