TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team faced Loyola on Thursday morning in the team's annual STEM Day game.
 
Towson (4-5) used strong three-point shooting in the first half to take a 33-27 lead over Loyola (2-7). The Greyhounds erased the deficit late in the fourth quarter, sending the game to overtime tied at 54 apiece. The Tigers hit two threes to open the overtime period, before six unanswered Greyhound points tied the game. Zoli Khalil missed a shot as time expired to give Loyola a 64-63 victory.

How it Happened

• Four Tigers scored in the opening quarter as Towson took a 12-10 lead into the first break. Tilda Sjökvist led the Black & Gold with five points after ten minutes.
• Viki Matulevicius pushed the lead to four on a made layup in opening minute of the period before two Greyhound baskets tied the game at 14 all.
• India Johnston and Zoli Khalil combined for the Tigers next eight points in the game, pushing the lead to 22-17 with 5:21 left in the half.
• Therien made layups on back-to-back Loyola possessions to pull within one.
• The Tigers followed with eight unanswered points. Semaya Turner scored five in the run.
• The Greyhounds closed the half on a 6-4 run over the final minutes as Towson took a 33-27 lead into halftime.
• Loyola got the deficit down to four on their first basket of the second half.
• Kayla Morris' three with 3:46 left in the third pushed the TU lead back to eight at 43-35.
• Therien's layup, with five seconds to go in the period, made it 46-40 with ten minutes left to play.
