Towson Women’s Tennis Opens Spring Season on February 8

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis team will play 20 matches during the 2026 spring semester. The Tigers will play 10 matches at home and three more at the Coppermine Bare Hills indoor facility, located five miles from campus.

Jamie Peterson's squad will also host Johns Hopkins in the season opener on Sunday, February 8 at Coppermine Bare Hills.

During an 18-day stretch between March 22 and April 8, Towson will play nine matches, including eight at the Tiger Tennis Complex, which includes conference matchups versus Hampton, Stony Brook, Monmouth, UNCW and Charleston.

The top six teams advance to the CAA Championship at William & Mary, beginning Apr. 17.

During the fall, the Tigers played in four events and defeated Rider in a head-to-head match. The 10-person roster features seven sophomores, including Gaia Montecchi and Kiersten Tambe, who qualified for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Championship in October.

"I am looking forward to the spring," said Peterson, now in his 10th season as head coach. "The team has an opportunity to capitalize on the strong finish to last season and the good results from the fall. Last year, we finished just outside the top six in the CAA with four starting freshmen. This spring, we will be a little stronger with more experience. We are laser focused on finishing in the top six to qualify for a spot in the conference tournament."
