TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team welcomed the Delaware Blue Hens on Thursday night. The Tigers (17-9, 12-1 CAA) defeated the Blue Hens (12-14, 5-8 CAA) 75-70 to win their 11th consecutive game and have the longest winning streak in Towson's Division One history.
 
Nendah Tarke had a game-high 22 points on 7-of-12 (58.3%) shooting while grabbing eight rebounds. Tyler Tejada finished with 16 points while Tomiwa Sulaiman had nine points and eight rebounds.

• The Tigers shot 48.4% from the field tonight, shooting 53.8% in the second half.
• Towson won the rebounding battle 41-25 tonight.
• The Tigers scored 46 points in the paint, tying a season-high.

 
How It Happened vs Delaware:

• The Tigers started the game with a 6-2 run getting a pair of baskets from Tomiwa Sulaiman.
• Delaware countered by scoring eight of the next ten points to have an 10-8 edge.
• Towson scored ten straight points to have an eight-point advantage with 12:25 left in the first half.
• The teams went back-and-forth exchanging baskets then Messiah Jones and Nendah Tarke made back-to-back layups to extend the lead to ten.
• The Blue Hens went on a 14-6 run to even up the score at 34, but Jones made a last second layup to give the Tigers a 36-34 edge going into halftime.
• Delaware opened the second half with a 14-7 run to take a five-point lead.
• Towson responded by scoring 14 of the next 18 points with four different Tigers scoring a basket during the six-minute span to lead 57-52 with 7:26 left in the second half.
• The Blue Hens trimmed their deficit to three, but Christian May drained a three-pointer to give the Tigers a six-point advantage.
• Delaware scored five consecutive points to cut the lead down to one then Tarke made back-to-back triples to extend Towson's lead to seven with 2:48 remaining.
• The teams exchanged free throws until a Delaware three-pointer gave the Tigers a 71-68 edge with 25 seconds left.
• May drained a pair of free throws and Tyler Tejada added a dunk to seal a 75-70 victory for the Tigers on Thursday night.
