TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team hosted the Monmouth Hawks on Saturday afternoon at TU Arena. The Tigers (18-9, 13-1 CAA) defeated the Hawks (9-18, 7-7 CAA) 80-54 to win Towson's 12th straight game.
Tyler Tejada led the Tigers 15 points on 50% shooting while
Nendah Tarke had 14 points off the bench with five rebounds and two steals.
Dylan Williamson and
Christian May each finished with 13 points.

- The Tigers grabbed 43 rebounds today, including 17 offensive rebounds which is tied for the third most this season.
- Towson scored 20 points off 13 Monmouth turnovers.

How It Happened vs Monmouth:
- The Tigers got out to an early 9-5 lead with Christian May scoring five points.
- Abdi Bashir Jr. made a triple to cut the deficit to one, but Towson responded with a 17-5 run, knocking down four three-pointers.
- The Tigers extended their lead to 17 after back-to-back threes from May and Tyler Tejada.
- The teams traded baskets to close out the first half with Towson having a 39-20 lead heading into halftime.
- Monmouth cut its deficit to 15 to start the second half, but a Messiah Jones layup and a Dylan Williamson three pointer pushed Towson's lead to 20.
- The Hawks converted a three-point play then Nendah Tarke and Williamson combined for a 12-2 run to give Towson a 59-31 lead with 11:11 remaining in the second half.
- The teams traded a pair of baskets, before the Tigers went on a 9-2 run to lead by 32.
- Mandela Tarke added four points late to seal an 80-54 victory for Towson.
