ELON, N.C. – The Towson University men's basketball team traveled down to North Carolina to take on the Elon Phoenix on Thursday night. The Tigers (18-10, 13-2 CAA) fell to the Phoenix (17-11, 8-7 CAA) 69-63 at the Schar Center to end Towson's 12-game winning streak.
Tyler Tejada led the team with 24 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Tomiwa Sulaiman had 11 points, a season-high five steals and 11 rebounds, tying a season-high.

- Elon had the edge in rebounds, 35-34.
- The Phoenix shot 39.1% from the behind the arc.
- Towson went 7-of-10 (70%) from the free throw line while Elon went 16-of-19 (84.2%).
How It Happened vs Elon:
- Elon opened the game by scoring the first five points, but the Tigers responded with a 12-3 run led by Dylan Williamson's two three-pointers.
- After trading a couple of baskets, Williamson hit his third three-pointer of the night to extend Towson's lead to six with 11:31 remaining in the first half.
- The Phoenix took a 22-20 edge after a 10-2 run.
- The teams went back and forth exchanging baskets, before Elon scored eight consecutive points to have a five-point advantage.
- A Williamson triple and Tyler Tejada layup evened the score at 34 with 2:22 left in the first half.
- The Phoenix scored five straight points then Messiah Jones made a last second layup to give Elon a 39-36 edge going into halftime.
- Towson started the second half with by scoring ten of the first 12 points to lead 46-41.
- Elon countered with an 8-2 run to take a one-point edge.
- The teams continued to go back-and-forth trading the lead three times before the Tigers went on a 7-2 run to have a 61-58 lead with 4:05 remaining.
- The Phoenix scored eight straight points to lead by five.
- Tejada made two free throws to cut the deficit down to three, but Elon closed the game out with three free throws to win 69-63 over Towson.

- Dylan Williamson made four three-pointers tonight to have 69 on the season, which is the tenth most in a season by any player in program history.
- The Tigers finished with 17 assists, which is tied for the second most this season.
- Messiah Jones tied a season-high with seven rebounds while adding seven points and four assists.
