BOX SCORE College Park, Md. - The Towson University tennis team traveled to College Park to take on Maryland in its second match of the spring season. The Tigers fell 4-0 to the Terrapins.
Maryland earned the point at doubles, winning all three matches. At No. 2, Towson's team of
Ashira Murray and
Tamzin Pountney put up a strong fight before dropping 6-3. The Terrapins continued to win three singles matches in straight sets to clinch.
Head Coach
Jamie Peterson noted that despite the loss, the team "put up a good fight at No. 2 doubles and did give [themselves] opportunities to be competitive at various points in singles." Looking forward, Peterson highlighted the team's effort, stating that "the team played hard and has a lot of promise."
