Towson Women’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Jacksonville on Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team faced off against the Jacksonville Dolphins on Friday afternoon. The Tigers (2-1) defeated the Dolphins (0-4) 15-7 at Rock Stadium to win Towson's second straight game.
 
Valerie Thompson finished with a career-high five points scoring a career-high four goals and adding an assist. Milana Zizakovic finished with a season-high five points (3g, 2a) and a season-best five draw controls. Katie Roszko scored a career-high four goals.

  • Jenna Cardeno had nine saves with a 56.3% save percentage.

  • The Tigers got on the board first when Valerie Thompson gave Katie Roszko a little flip pass who then fired a shot past Hodgin to give Towson an early lead.
  • Jacksonville tied the score on a Maddie Herman free position goal.
  • Milana Zizakovic scored back-to-back goals to give Towson a 3-1 lead.
  • Thompson extended the advantage to three 17 seconds later after she got past her defender and fired a shot that beat Hodgin.
  • Less than a minute later, Hailey Waldron scored her third goal of the season when she ran around her defender and fired a low shot that got through Hodgin.
  • Luca DeMaio extended Towson's lead after scoring her second goal of the year to give the Tigers a 6-1 lead in the first quarter.
