TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team played two more games in the DeMarini Tiger Clash on Friday. The Tigers (5-9) lost a 9-inning slugfest to Colgate (4-8) 12-13 before bouncing back with a 8-3 win over Bryant (4-7).
 
GAME 1: Towson 12, Colgate 13
Key Stats:

• Cara Bohner recorded 4 hits and 4 RBIs.
• Grace Franczyk picked up 3 hits and 4 RBIs.
• Isabella Canesi hit a 2-run homerun.
• Alyssa Myint hit 4-5 with an RBI.
• Kristin Toland went 2-5 with a triple.
• Briyana Wright hit 2-6 with an RBI.
• Olivia Trombley started on the bump and pitched 5.0 innings allowing 9 hits and 2 runs with 3 strikeouts and did not factor into the decision.
• Cadence Williams pitched 2.1 innings out of the bullpen allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs while receiving the loss.
• For Colgate: Analisa Raffaelli and Lily Haluska hit 2 homeruns each, Mia Cascio hit a homerun; Hailey Gald, Amanda DeSantis and Alexis Romero all had at least two hits. Mikala Ham picks up the win throwing 3.2 innings out of the bullpen allowing 5 hits and 3 runs. Maya Servedio earned the save.

 
How it Happened:

• Olivia Trombley struck out a pair in a scoreless 1^st inning.
• Jenna Giattino reached on an error in the bottom of the 1^st, then was knocked in by a Cara Bohner single to put Towson up early.
• Colgate responded in the 3^rd, with a pair of solo homeruns from Analisa Raffaelli and Lily Haluska to take a 2-1 lead.
• Kristin Toland and Bohner hit a pair of singles to lead off the bottom half of the inning, both advanced on a Briyana Wright groundout, then both scored on a Grace Franczyk single. Then Isabella hit a 2-run homerun to make it 5-2. Towson wasn't done however as Elizabeth Yoskowitz walked then came all the way around to score off an Alyssa Myint triple to make it 6-2 Towson.
• The Tigers kept it up in the 4^th as Toland hit a leadoff triple then scored on a Bohner double. A pair of groundouts scored Bohner as well to make it 8-2 Tigers.
• Trombley kept Colgate off the board in the 4^th and 5^th innings.
• The Raiders cut into the lead in the 6^th as a pair of walks sandwiching a fielder's choice put two on with one out for Raffaelli who launched a 3-run homerun to slash Towson's lead in half.
• Kayla Pilson got two quick outs in the bottom of the 7^th, but an Alexis Romero single and Mia Cascio homerun made it an Kai 8-7 game and a single a walk and another single brought the tying run home.
• The game entered extra innings where Colgate took a 10-8 lead in the top of the 8^th. from a Haluska homerun.
• Towson fought back in the bottom of the 8^th and recorded a pair of singles to leadoff the inning then Franczyk hit a 2-run double to bring the game all square.
• The Raiders loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the 9^th Then Quinn Livesay hit a sac fly and Amanda DeSantis hit a 2-run single to make it 13-10 Colgate.
• A Bohner 2-run double brought Towson within a run, but Maya Servedio closed out the game for a 13-12 Colgate win.

 
GAME 2: Towson 8, Bryant 3
Key Stats:

• Kaci Benton, Isabella Canesi and Mackenzie Gorczyca each had multiple hits.
• Grace Franczyk, Toland, Alyssa Myint and Elizabeth Yoskowitz all recorded a hit.
• Toland had Towson's only RBI.
• Amanda Medina pitched 3.0 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs with 5 strikeouts.
• Alyssa Bostley earned the win pitching 3.0 innings of relief allowing only 2 hits and one run.
• For Bryant: Sam Rohwer had 3 hits and 2 RBIs, Makenna Coleman recorded 2 hits, Lexi Powell started on the mound pitching 3.0 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run. Grace McKillop earned the loss allowing 4 hits and 4 runs (1 earned) in 1.0 inning.

 
How it Happened:

• Amanda Medina strikeouts bookend a scoreless top of the first.
• Kristin Toland walked, advanced on a groundout and scored as Madyson Peters reached on an error to put Towson ahead 1-0 early.
• Towson loaded the bases with one out and scored one run as Kaci Benton crossed home on a wild pitch.
• Medina struck out the first two batters of the top of the third, but a pair of singles was followed by a 2-run double by Sam Rohwer to tie the game 2-2.
• Kaci Benton led off the bottom of the 4^th with a triple and scored as Bryant mishandled the throw to third base. A pair of singles brought up Mackenzie Gorzczyca who singled back to the pitcher, McKillops late throw went wide of the first baseman and allowed both runners on base to score to make it 5-2 Towson. With two outs, Cara Bohner reached on the third Bulldog error of the inning to score Gorczyca and push the lead to 4.
• Makenna Coleman doubled to lead off the 5^th and later scored from a Meghan Houk sacrifice fly to make it 6-3 Towson.
• Gorczyca hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the sixth and scored the next at-bat when Toland tripled, a throwing error allowed Toland to score as well. The game was cut short following the end of the 6^th inning due to lack of daylight and Towson won 8-3.
