TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team has signed 11 new players on National Signing Day in preparation for the 2025 fall season.
All players signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday, Feb. 5, the beginning of the national signing day period. Incoming freshmen and transfers can sign starting today.
Towson also added 11 players on Early Signing Day on Dec. 4, 2024 to total 22 players signed for the 2025 class. The 22 total players include 19 freshmen and three transfers.
"I am really excited to round out this recruiting class with some great additions," said Towson head coach
Pete Shinnick. "We have signed freshman classes of 17 players last year and 19 players this year. The future is bright for our program!"

Zion Copeland – Defensive Line – Freshman – 6-3, 285 - Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam H.S.
A two-sport standout at Kellam, Copeland arrives at Towson from Virginia Beach. On the gridiron, Copeland was a 2023 First Team All-Region 5A honoree at defensive line, also playing at offensive line. He also competes in track & field, being the school's top competitor in the shot put and the discus throw.
Shamar Graham – Linebacker – Graduate Student – 6-1, 225 - Richmond, Va./Virginia Union Univ./Thomas Jefferson H.S.
Graham will do a graduate transfer year with Towson after competing at Virginia Union University the past three seasons. The 2023 First Team All-CIAA honoree played 37 games for the Panthers, leading the team is tackles all three years for a total of 264, adding seven sacks. In high school, Graham was a standout on both sides of the ball, leading Thomas Jefferson High to the 2019 state semifinal.
Alijah Hamond – Linebacker – Freshman – 6-2, 205 – Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall College (H.S.)
A three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals.com and 247Sports, Hamond will join his twin brother at Towson and stay locally in the area. Ranked as the No. 57 player in the state of Maryland by 247Sports, Hamond, who played his last high school football game at Unitas Stadium in the Turkey Bowl, also played safety for Calvert Hall in football plus was a standout basketball player.
Asaiah-Allan Hamond – Defensive Line – Freshman – 6-5, 275 – Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall College (H.S.)
Also a three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals.com and 247Sports, Hamond will join his twin brother at Towson to stay in the Greater Baltimore area. Ranked the No. 35 player in the state of Maryland by 247Sports, Hamond, who played his last high school football game at Unitas Stadium in the Turkey Bowl, also was a basketball standout at Calvert Hall.
Andrew Indorf – Quarterback – Freshman – 6-1, 195 - Miami, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas
From the Sunshine State comes Indorf, who went 27-4 with 77 passing touchdowns as a starting quarterback at St. Thomas Aquinas. The 2024 Florida Class 5A Football Player of the Year led the Raiders to three state titles and top-25 national rankings, including No. 6 in 2022 and No. 9 in 2023, becoming the all-time leader at the school in passing yards, completions and passing touchdowns.
Cordell Jefferson – Defensive Back – Freshman – 6-2, 175 - Reisterstown, Md./St. Frances Academy
Jefferson is staying local to come to the Tigers from Reisterstown. Jefferson helped St. Frances Academy to be the No. 1 ranked team in the state of Maryland and No. 8 national team by MaxPreps in 2024.
Chris Koffi – Linebacker – Freshman – 6-1, 225 - Hyattsville, Md./Quince Orchard H.S.
A three-star recruit by On3 and two-star by Rivals.com, Koffi takes the short trek from Hyattsville to Towson. Koffi earned All-MOCO First Team offense and 2024
Washington Post All-Metro honorable mention, leading Quince Orchard to the Maryland Class 4A state title playing each linebacker and fullback.
Bryan "Meeko" Lodge – Defensive Back – Junior – 6-3, 200 – West Park, Fla./Northeastern Oklahoma A&M/Avant Garde Academy
From southern Florida comes Lodge to join the Towson secondary. He spent the last two years in the JUCO ranks including playing last year at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, averaging over five tackles in a game in his final three games. He also was at Butler C.C. after being a defensive back and quarterback at Avant Garde Academy.
Nicholas Miano – Defensive Line – Freshman – 6-4, 270 - Poughkeepsie, N.Y./The Lawrenceville School
From the Hudson River Valley in New York state comes Miano. A strong edge rusher for The Lawrenceville School, he finished with 22 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks and seven quarterback hurries as a senior. Maino also competes in the shot put for the school track & field team.
Khemani Williams – Defensive Back – Freshman - 6-1, 185 - Orlando, Fla./Edgewater H.S.
Battle-Williams comes to Towson, joining fellow Orlando natives
TJ Sands and
Alfred Thomas. In his career at Edgewater High, the defensive back finished with 80 tackles and eight pass breakups, including 25 tackles and an interception in his senior season.
Mike Williams – Offensive Line – Redshirt Freshman – 6-6, 310 - Upper Marlboro, Md./University of Florida/St. Frances Academy
Williams will return to his home state after a redshirt season at the University of Florida. At St. Frances Academy, the three-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals.com was a top-40 recruit in Maryland from the Class of 2024, playing offensive tackle for a Panthers team which was ranked the top team in Maryland and averaged over 180 rushing yards per game.

From the Florida panhandle comes Battles, a football and track standout at Gadsden County High in Tallahassee. In 2024, Battles rushed for 2,109 yards and 21 touchdowns and led the Jaguars to the 2024 FHSAA Class 2A Region 1 title on the squad's 12
th win and the team's first state semifinal berth since 2020. In track, Battles has top-6 finishes in the 100m and 200m dash.
Seth Chestnut – Linebacker – Freshman – 6-1, 225 – Sanderson, Fla./Baker County H.S.
Chestnut is a three-star recruit and a top-250 player in the state of Florida by 247Sports.com. A two-sport athlete in football and baseball at Baker County High, Chestnut earned over 400 career tackles for the Wildcats and is a two-time All-News4JAX defender, including First Team in 2023. He led Baker County to the Class 2 regional final and eight wins in 2023.
Mehki Cousar – Offensive Line – Freshman – 6-6, 315 – Waldorf, Md./St. Frances Academy
Cousar will go from Baltimore City to Baltimore County for his collegiate career. A three-star recruit by On3.com and one of the top-5 offensive tackles of 2025 by Rivals.com, Cousar played left tackle for St. Frances Academy in Charm City, currently ranked the No. 8 high school team in the nation by Rivals.com.
Chase Dorsey – Offensive Line – Freshman – 6-4, 290 – Parkton, Md./Calvert Hall College (H.S.)
Dorsey will take the three-mile trek down Stevenson Lane from Calvert Hall to join the Tigers at Unitas. A starting offensive lineman for the Cardinals, Dorsey is a two-time First Team All-MIAA A-Conference player on the gridiron, taking the team to the MIAA playoffs. He also was the 2024 MIAA shot put champion, helping Calvert Hall win its third-straight MIAA track & field title.
Zaydaan Faridi – Kicker/Punter – Freshman – 5-10, 200 – Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg H.S.
From Montgomery County comes Faridi, who is rated a 4.5-star kicker and a 3.5-star punter by the 2024 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. Faridi was the place kicker, punter and kickoff specialist for Clarksburg, including notching a 48-yard field goal in the team's season-opening victory vs. Gaithersburg.
JaVon Ford II – Running Back – Freshman – 5-11, 195 – Suffolk, Va./King's Fork H.S.
From the Hampton Roads metro area of Virginia comes Ford II, a two-star recruit by Rivals.com. Ford II is a three-time all-state and all-region honoree, including tallying 1,570 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns in his 2023 campaign, leading the Bulldogs to the 2023 South Eastern District title. In 2024, he earned 1,095 total yards and 13 total touchdowns.
Kyron Grayson – Defensive Back – Freshman – 6-0, 175 – Franklin Park, N.J./St. Peter's Prep
Grayson comes to Towson after being a two-sport standout at St. Peter's Prep in New Jersey. On the football field, Grayson played defensive back for the Jesuits, finishing with 52 tackles and an interception in 10 games in his senior season, earning 2024 SFC All-Division Second Team. He also was a track athlete at St. Peter's, competing in the 100m and 200m dash events plus the high jump.
Ben Kumpon – Linebacker – Freshman – 6-1, 220 – Avondale, Pa./Malvern Prep
Kumpon comes to Towson from the town of Avondale, just across the Pennsylvania border. A team captain and two-way football player at linebacker and tight end for Malvern Prep, Kumpon earned 53 tackles in 2023, including a 9-1 record, following with 55 tackles as a senior. He earned First Team All-Inter-Ac in 2024, helping the Friars to their second-straight league title.
Jack Mahoney – Tight End – Freshman – 6-5, 230 – York, Pa./Dallastown H.S.
Mahoney comes down I-83 from York to Towson for his collegiate career. A two-way player at tight end and defensive end, Mahoney was named one of the top tight ends in the state of Pennsylvania by High School on
Sports Illustrated, earning 2024 All-YAIAA honors in both positions: First Team at tight end and honorable mention at defensive end.
Kavon McKinney – Defensive Back – Freshman – 6-1, 165 – Sanford, Fla./Lakeland H.S.
Central Florida native McKinney joins the Towson ranks after being a two-sport standout at Lakeland High. Named a Must-Watch Rising Prospect by Prep Redzone Florida, McKinney led Lakeland to the 2023 4S State Championship, including an interception and pass-breakup in the title game, plus the 2024 state title game, earning an interception in the semifinal and final game. In 2024, he finished with six interceptions, 19 tackles and two touchdowns. In track, McKinney was the 2024 state triple jump champion.
Cody Szymansky – Wide Receiver – Freshman – 6-0, 190 – Salem, N.H./Phillips Exeter
Szymansky is Towson's first player from the Granite State in over 20 years. A wide receiver, defensive back and long snapper at Phillips Exeter in New Hampshire, Szymansky led the Big Red to an 8-1 season and the NEPSAC championship in 2024 with 34 catches and 525 receiving yards. He was ranked the No. 11 wide receiver of 2025 in New England by Prep Redzone.
