HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Towson University softball team played the final of a three-game road Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series against the Hofstra Pride.
Amanda Medina allowed only 2 hits over the final 6.0 innings to lead to a 4-2 win to take two of three against the Pride.

Hofstra – 2-19, 1-5 CAA
Key Stats:
- Taylor Broadbent hit 2-3 with a 2B and 2 RBIs in her first start back from injury.
- Alyssa Myint also hit 2-3 with a 2B and 2 RBIs.
- Kristin Toland recorded a pair of hits and Briyana Wright hit a 2B.
- Amanda Medina pitched all 7.0 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs with 0 walks and 6 strikeouts to earn her 3rd win of the season.
- For Hofstra: Dahlia Palacio and Alanna Morse both had a hit and an RBI. Emma Falen started on the mound and went all 7.0 innings allowing 10 hits and 4 runs with no walks and 5 strikeouts in the loss.
How it Happened:
- Emma Falen started her second game of the series for Hofstra and pitched a 1-2-3 1st inning.
- Chelsea Villar hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the 1st and Dahlia Palacio's RBI double opened the scoring. Palacio stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Pride after the 1st inning.
- Both Falen and Amanda Medina sent the side down in order with 2 strikeouts each in the 2nd.
- Elizabeth Yoskowitz singled in the top of the 3rd for Towson's first hit of the game, but Falen struck out the next batter to end the inning.
- Medina made it 8 straight batters retired in the bottom of the 3rd.
- Cara Bohner and Kristin Toland hit a pair of singles to lead off the 4th inning. With 2 outs, Taylor Broadbent hit another single to cut the Pride's lead in half and make it 2-1.
- Medina pitched around a 1-out single for her third straight scoreless inning.
- Alyssa Myint hit a leadoff double in the 5th but Falen retired the next three batters to maintain the one run lead.
- The bottom of the 5th was another 1-2-3 inning from Medina.
- Toland hit a leadoff single in the 6th and Isabella hit a 1-out single to put two on with one out for Broadbent who hit an RBI double to tie the game at 2. With 2 outs, Myint sent a 2-run single to center field to make it 4-2 Towson.
- Medina allowed a 2-out single in the home half of the inning and the runner advanced on a wild pitch, but a flyout to center ended the inning.
- Falen bounced back and retired the Tigers in order in the top of the 7th.
- Amanda Medina pitched her 4th 1-2-3 of the game to close out a 4-2 Towson win.
