TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team welcomed the Longwood Lancers in a mid-week non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers (5-3) defeated the Lancers (0-7) 22-2 at Tiger Field.
 
Katie Roszko led the Tigers with a game-high five points on three goals and two assists. Valerie Thompson tied a season-high with four goals while Savannah Safchuck added three goals and an assist.

• The Tigers got off to a fast start scoring two goals in the first three minutes with Valerie Thompson and Milana Zizakovic finding the back of the net.
• Savannah Safchuck made the score 3-0 when she scored her 13th goal of the season.
• Thompson scored her second goal of the game when she ran past her defender and fired a low shot that found beat Smith to extend Towson's lead.
• Katie Roszko scored back-to-back goals less than two minutes apart to give the Tigers a six-goal advantage.

• Bella Wojcik scored on a free position attempt to restore a six-goal advantage.
• Wojcik scored her second goal of the game when Safchuck found her wide open in front of the crease. Wojcik picked her spot and gave the Tigers a seven-goal lead.

• Roszko opened the second quarter with her third goal of the game when she fired a shot far post that beat the goalie.

• Longwood scored on a free position attempt, then Katie McCormick scored her first goal of the season to give Towson a 13-2 advantage heading into halftime.
• Safchuck got her third hat trick of the season less than a minute into the third quarter when she fired a bouncing shot that found the back of the net.
• Thompson scored her fourth goal of the game when she ran past two defenders and fired a shot near post that beat the goalie to extend the advantage.
• Riley Padian found Gabby Bjugan cutting to the crease who then took a step and launched a shot far post that found the back of the net for Bjugan's first collegiate goal.
• Zizakovic added a late goal in the third quarter to give the Tigers a 17-2 lead heading into the final quarter.
• Bjugan opened the fourth quarter with her second goal of the game.
• Hailey Waldron scored her eighth goal of the season to push the lead to 17 when she juked past two defenders and fired a shot far post.
• Emma Baker, Sydney Casserly and Louise Aloi each scored their first collegiate goal to seal a 22-2 victory for the Tigers.
