TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team played the second of a three game Coastal Athletic Association series vs the Campbell Fighting Camels on Saturday. The Camels defeated the Tigers 6-1 to win the series.

Towson – 12-15, 3-5 CAA
Campbell – 22-7, 8-0 CAA
 
Key Stats:

• Grace Franczyk hit 2-3 with an RBI.
• Elizabeth Yoskowitz had a pair of singles.
• Briyana Wright and Cara Bohner both recorded a double.
• Olivia Trombley started on the mound and pitched 5.0 innings allowing eight hits and five runs (two earned) in the loss.
• Faith McCullough pitched 2.0 innings out of the bullpen allowing one hit and one run.
• For Campbell: Madison Ford, Hannah Cornetto and Cadan Brinkman all had multiple hits and RBIs. Megan Gregory pitched all 7.0 innings allowing eight hits and one run with seven strikeouts to earn the win.

 
How it Happened:

•  Olivia Trombley started on the mound for Towson and despite a pair of two-out singles kept Campbell off the board in the 1^st.
• Megan Gregory got the start for Campbell and struck out the first two batters she faced before Cara Bohner hit a two-out double. The next batter Isabella Canesi hit a fly ball that would have cleared the left field wall if not for the glove of Tyra Parker who reached over the wall and secured the third out of the inning.
• Haley Krebs reached on an error with two outs in the top of the 2^nd, the next batter Cadan Brinkman hit a two-run homerun to put the Camels up 2-0 early.
• The bottom of the 2^nd and top of the 3^rd both ended after three batters due to double plays.
• Gregory sent Towson down in order again in the home half of the 3^rd.
• A two-out walk was Trombley's only blemish in the top of the 4^th.
• In the bottom half, Taylor Broadbent hit a leadoff double and advanced to third on a groundout. With two outs, Grace Franczyk hit a single back up the middle to score Broadbent and make it 2-1.
• A pair of singles and an outfield error put Campbell runners on second and third with one out in the 5^th for Madison Ford who hit a two-run single and advanced on the throw allowing her to later score from Hannah Cornetto's single to push the Camel's lead to 5-1.
• Elizabeth Yoskowitz hit a one-out single in the bottom of the 5^th, but a pair of flyouts ended the inning.
• Faith McCullough entered out of the bullpen for Trombley in the top of the 6^th. After the leadoff batter reached on an error, McCullough retired the next three to keep the deficit at four.
• Franczyk's two-out single in the 6^th couldn't spark a rally for the Tigers.
• Parker hit a leadoff double in the top of the 7^th and stole third base. Two batters later, Cornetto hit a sacrifice fly to make it 6-1 Campbell.
• Yoskowitz and Briyana Wright hit back-to-back two-out singles in the bottom of the 7^th, and both moved up a base thanks to a wild pitch, but Gregory retired the next batter to seal a 6-1 Campbell win.
