BOX SCORE Wilmington, N.C. - The Towson University tennis team traveled to Wilmington, North Carolina on Saturday for the team's third conference match of the season. The Tigers fell to the Seahawks 6-1.
Towson secured the doubles point, marked by a dominant performance led by
Kiersten Tambe and Chandré Boshoff at No. 1 (6-3) followed by
Gaia Montecchi and
Sania Suchinsky at No. 3 (6-4). In singles play, the Seahawks swept all six matches to secure the win.
"The team battled really hard today", said head coach
Jamie Peterson. "We did well in doubles and took the point, but we were not able to sustain the same level of play in singles with the exception of a great comeback attempt by
Ashira Murray that fell short. We look forward to the remaining three weeks of the regular season and continuing to move in the right direction."
