Towson Tennis Set for Split-Week Action

Towson, Md. - The Towson University tennis team is set to play two matches this week. On Tuesday, the Tigers travel to West Long Branch, N.J. to face off against CAA foe Monmouth at 3PM. On Wednesday, Towson Tennis is on the road again for a non-conference match in Fairfax, Va. against George Mason at 3PM.

Last Match Recap
The Black & Gold traveled to Wilmington, N.C. this past Saturday to face off against UNCW in the team's third conference match of the season. The Tigers fell to the Seahawks, 6-1. Towson secured the doubles point, marked by a dominant performance led by Kiersten Tambe and Chandré Boshoff at No. 1 (6-3) followed by Gaia Montecchi and Sania Suchinsky at No. 3 (6-4). In singles play, the Seahawks swept all six matches to secure the win.

Monmouth Scouting Report
The Hawks enter with a 4-8 record and a 0-1 mark in conference play. Monmouth opened its season with a set of wins against Wagner and Mary Washington but lost in the team's next match to George Mason. The Hawks responded with a dominant performance against Howard, sweeping 7-0. Monmouth then lost its next six matches against Saint Joseph's, Rider, Army, UC Irvine, Seton Hall and Delaware. The Hawks bounced back with a win against Lafayette. In the team's most recent match, Monmouth dropped 5-2 to Sacred Heart.

George Mason Scouting Report
The Patriots currently sit at a 5-8 record and a 0-3 mark in A-10 conference play. George Mason began its season with a loss to George Washington and Radford. The Patriots won their next two matches against Coppin State and Mary Washington. George Washinton lost its next four games against Navy, Fordham, Western Illinois and SIUE. The team traveled to Hilton Head, S.C. and picked up a pair of wins against Berry and West Virginia State. The Patriots are currently on a two-game losing streak after dropping to Longwood and Rhode Island.

Next Match
The Tigers return home to take on Bucknell on Tuesday, Apr. 1 at 2PM. The match will take place at Tiger Tennis Complex.
