BOX SCORE West Long Branch, N. J. - The Towson University tennis team picked up a win on the road against Monmouth on Tuesday, 6-1.
Towson secured the doubles point with strong performances from
Kiersten Tambe and Chandré Boshoff at No. 1 and
Ashira Murray and
Olivia Rothfeld at No. 2. The Tigers continued to dominate in singles play, claiming five straight-set victories.
Kiersten Tambe retired from her singles match due to knee issues.
"We struggled to get going initially in doubles, but found a way to pull it out," said head coach
Jamie Peterson. "Once we clinched the doubles point, the girls did an outstanding job of closing out the match by winning 5 out of 6 in straight sets."
