Towson Tennis Set for Four Matches This Week

Towson, Md. - The Towson University tennis team has a busy week ahead with four matches on the schedule. The Tigers kick off the action at home on Tuesday, hosting Bucknell at the Tiger Tennis Complex at 2PM. The following day, Towson welcomes Loyola for a 3PM matchup. To close out the week, the Tigers hit the road for a pair of conference clashes in New York, taking on Stony Brook on Thursday, Apr. 4, and Hofstra on Friday, Apr. 5.

Last Match Recap
Towson Tennis secured a dominant 6-1 conference victory over Monmouth last week. The Tigers claimed the doubles point before carrying their momentum into singles play, where they won five of six matches. Head coach Jamie Peterson noted that "once [the team] clinched the doubles point, the girls did an outstanding job of closing out the match by winning five out of six in straight sets."

Bucknell Scouting Report
Bucknell enters the matchup with a 7-8 record and a 1-2 mark in conference play. The Bisons started the season with a 6-1 win over Franklin & Marshall before dropping four straight matches to Villanova, Delaware, Hofstra, and Washington & Lee. They bounced back with victories over Marist, Slippery Rock, and Mercyhurst before being swept back-to-back against Boston (0-4) and Florida Southern (0-7). After a 4-0 sweep of Southeastern, Bucknell fell to Saint Francis and Navy. The Bisons are currently on a two-match winning streak with recent wins over Loyola (6-1) and Saint Joseph's (4-3).

Loyola Scouting Report
Loyola has accumulated a 10-3 record and a 2-3 mark in conference play. The Greyhounds started off strong with a ten-match winning streak against Saint Joseph's, George Mason, Swarthmore, Norfolk State, Cedarville, Bowling Green, Eckerd, Mount St. Mary's, Villanova, Lafayette and Holy Cross. Loyola is currently on a three-game losing streak after dropping to Army West Point, Bucknell and Lehigh.

Stony Brook Scouting Report
Stony Brook enters the competition with a 4-9 overall record and a 1-1 mark in CAA play. The Seawolves opened the season with a loss to Army before securing wins over Fairfield, Wagner and Drexel. They then dropped three straight matches to Boston, Brown and St. John's but rebounded with a narrow 4-3 victory against Bryant. Currently on a six-match losing streak, Stony Brook has fallen to Harvard, Fordham, Delaware, Miami, Colgate and Nebraska. The Seawolves will face Sacred Heart on Wednesday before taking on the Tigers on Friday.

Hofstra Scouting Report
Hofstra enters the matchup with a 2-11 record and a 0-1 mark in CAA conference play. The Pride opened their season with a loss to Columbia but picked up a win the next day in a matchup against Bucknell. Hofstra then dropped its next five matches against Lehigh, NJIT, Wagner, Seton Hall and Rhode Island. The Pride responded with a 4-3 win against Saint Joseph's. Hofstra is currently on a five-match losing streak after dropping to Army, Colgate, Delaware, St. John's and LIU. The team will face off against UNCW on Friday before hosting Towson on Saturday.

Next Match
The Tigers will host Morgan State on Apr. 8 at 3PM. The match will take place at the Tiger Tennis Complex.
