RICHMOND, Va. – The Towson University baseball team faced Richmond in the Tigers' first midweek road contest of the season at Pitt Field on Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers (3-8) fell to the Spiders (10-2), 14-3, in seven innings.
Richmond used big offensive innings in the first, second and third innings to build an early lead. The Tigers added one each in the first and second. The Spiders went on to win 14-3 in seven innings.

- Brett Ahalt put the Tigers on the board in the top of the first, following Jordan Peyton's single with a double to right center to score the runner.
- Richmond plated four in the home half, scoring on a bases loaded walk and hit batter to follow. Moments later, the Spiders scored on a wild pitch and get the final home on a fielder's choice to take a three-run lead.
- The Tigers got one run back in the next frame, scoring on AJ Kolb's double play groundout to cut the deficit to two.
- The Spiders scored four more in the home half, plating two runners on a fielder's choice and two more on Bernstein's home run to left field.
- Richmond added three runs in the bottom of the third on a double, bases-loaded walk and a fielder's choice to extend their lead to 11-2.
- The Spiders added one run on two hits in the fourth to extend their lead to ten.
- Richmond extended its lead to 12 on three hits in the bottom of the sixth.
- Taye Robinson hit a solo home run of the seventh to cut the deficit to 11. With no more runs in the frame, the game was called on a ten-run rule.
