BOX SCORE Towson, Md. - The Towson University tennis team picked up a win against Delaware State Saturday afternoon at Tiger Tennis Complex.
The Tigers took a 2-0 lead heading into singles, marked by a 6-1 win by
Olivia Rothfeld and
Ashira Murray at No. 2 and a 6-0 sweep by
Sania Suchinsky and
Gaia Montecchi at No. 3. Rothfeld (No. 5) and Murray (No. 4) continued to dominate in singles with straight-set wins. Montecchi took the win at No. 3 (6-1, 6-3).
Aubrey Carper additionally won for the Tigers at No. 6 (6-2, 6-1) to clinch the match.
"It was a good day for TU Tennis," said head coach
Jamie Peterson. "The entire team did a good job on what we've been working on. I am proud of everyone on the team for their competitive efforts, win or lose."
