How it happened:
  •  The Cougars struck first in the bottom of the 1st as a pair of one out singles put two runners on for Leela Langston who hit a flyball that allowed Austy Miller to advance from second to third before a throwing error allowed Miller to score and give Charleston a 1-0 lead.

  • Amanda Medina sent Charleston down in order in the bottom of the 3rd and Kendall Thackston pitched her fourth straight scoreless inning in the top of the fourth.
  • A fielding error allowed the leadoff batter in the bottom of the 4th to reach safely, a single and stolen base put runners on second and third with no outs. Medina struck out the next batter, but a wild pitch made it 2-0 Cougars. A walk put runners on the corners and a double steal allowed a third Charleston run to score. This brought up Jay Wrightsman who hit a two-run homerun to push the Cougars lead to 5-0. Another fielding error capped off a five-run inning and made it 6-0 Charleston after four innings.
  • Bohner hit another two-out double in the bottom of the 5th before a lighting delay temporarily paused the game. The game resumed with Franczyk up to bat who hit the second pitch after the delay for her third homerun of the season to cut the deficit to 6-2.
  • Isabella Canesi singled and Taylor Broadbent walked to lead off the top of the 6th, but the Tigers were unable to make the game any closer in the inning.
