TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team hosted the UNCW Seahawks in the final game of a three-game CAA series on Saturday afternoon at John B. Schuerholz Park.
UNCW (21-19, 9-6 CAA) scored five combined runs in the first two innings and added another five over the fifth and sixth to build a 10-run lead. Towson (13-27, 5-9 CAA) scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth before a solo home run in the following frame pushed the Seahawk lead back to nine at 11-2. The Tigers added two more runs on three hits in the eighth before going down in order in the ninth to fall 11-4.

- Towson starter Dutch DeProspero (2-5) took the loss, allowing five earned runs on five hits in 2.0 innings pitched. DeProspero struck out three.
- UNCW starter Cam Bagwell (7-1) earned the win, allowing two earned runs on six hits and one walk in 5.1 innings pitched. Bagwell fanned four batters.
How it Happened
- UNCW's Trevor Lucas started the scoring in the top of the first inning with a two-run home run to right field.
- In the second, Nelson's RBI double and Wills' two-run homer to left center field extended the Seahawks' lead to five.
- UNCW added four runs on four hits and two errors in the top of the fifth, pushing its lead to 9-0.
- Arendt hit an RBI double in the right center gap in the following inning to plate the tenth Seahawk run of the game.
- Brett Ahalt put Towson on the board in the home half with a lead off home run to right field. With two runners on later in the frame, Taye Robinson's RBI single to right field made it a 10-2 game.
- DeMartino hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh to push the lead back to nine for the visitors.
- The Tigers added two more runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth. Robinson picked up his second RBI single of the day to score the third run before MJ Phillips' single to right scored Robinson from second after a steal.
- The Tigers went down in order in the bottom of the ninth to give the Seahawks an 11-4 win.
