TOWSON, Md – The Towson University softball team played the second of a three-game series against Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) rivals Monmouth.
Cara Bohner's first homerun of the season and a complete game from
Cadence Williams led Towson to an 8-1 win to even the series at one game apiece.

Key Stats:
- Cara Bohner hit her first homerun of the year and finished with four RBIs for the team leading third time this season. Bohner also become the second Towson batter to reach 30 RBIs this season.
- Grace Franczyk extended her hitting streak to 15 games, the longest of the season by any Tiger.
- Cadence Williams earned her fourth win of the season pitching all seven innings and allowing five hits and one run with two walks and three strikeouts.
- Olivia Lewis receives the loss after allowing four hits and 4 runs over 2.1 innings.
How it happened:
- Towson starter Cadence Williams and Monmouth starter Olivia Lewis only allowed one baserunner each through the first two innings.
- A single and a walk in the bottom of the 3rd put two on with one out for Cara Bohner who hit her first homerun of the season to give Towson a 3-0 lead. The next batter Kristin Toland singled bringing up Grace Franczyk who hit an RBI double to put the Tigers up 4-0 after three innings.
- A pair of leadoff singles and a sacrifice bunt put runners on second and third with one out for the Hawks in the 4th. But Williams struck out the next batter and ended the inning with a popout to foul territory. The Tigers also stranded a pair in scoring position in the bottom of the inning.
- Williams walked the first batter in the top of the sixth and an Izzy Bonacci double again put runners on second and third with one out. Jayla Cadena hit an RBI sacrifice fly to make it 4-1 but Williams ended the inning without any more damage.
- Mackenzie Gorczyca hit a pinch-hit leadoff triple in the bottom of the 6th. After Alyssa Myint walked a wild pitch allowed Gorczyca to score. Briyana Wright walked and stole second bringing up Bohner who hit an RBI groundout making it 6-1. Toland then hit an RBI triple and then scored from a Franczyk RBI single. The Tigers second 4-run inning of the day made it 8-1 entering the 7th inning.
- A two-out walk was Williams only blemish in the top of the 7th as she secured a 8-1 Towson win.
