ARLINGTON, Va. – The Towson University baseball team faced George Washington at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Towson (15-30, 6-12 CAA) got out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the second, third and fourth innings to go up 6-0. George Washington (24-20, 11-10 A-10) got one run back in the bottom of the third before the Tigers pushed the lead back to six in the fifth. The Revs scored three in the fifth and two in the sixth to cut the TU lead to one through six innings. The Tigers added an eighth run in the seventh inning, which was enough to secure the 8-6 victory.

- Towson reliever Andrew Luczak (3-4) recorded the win, allowing one earned run on one walk in 1.0 inning pitched, adding one strikeout.
- George Washington starter Jonas Aponick (0-1) took the loss, allowing six earned runs on seven hits and one walk in 3.1 innings pitched.
How it Happened
- Towson struck first in the top of the second inning, scoring two on Casey Bishop's RBI double down the left field line.
- In the next inning, Brett Ahalt hit a two-out single to left before Max D'Alessandro knocked a two-run home run the same way to extend the Black & Gold's lead to four.
- The Tigers tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning, scoring one on Jordan Peyton's RBI groundout with two runners in scoring position. On the following at-bat, Nich Francuzenko singled down the left field line to make it a 6-0 TU lead.
- George Washington scored its first run of the game in the fourth inning. A walk, steal and subsequent fly out put a runner at third base, who scored on Tufano's groundout to short on the following at-bat.
- The Tigers extended their lead back to 7-1 on Bishop's RBI fielder's choice groundout in the top of the fifth.
- The Revs added three runs on two hits in the bottom half to cut Towson's lead to three.
- Two more runs in the bottom of the sixth for GW cut TU's lead to one at 7-6.
- The Tigers re-extended the lead to two in the top of the seventh, scoring on an errant throw off AJ Kolb's infield single.
Inside the Numbers
- Casey Bishop recorded his second three-hit game of the season. He also added three RBI's, his second highest total of the season behind his four against UMES in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.
- Max D'Alessandro swatted his ninth home run of the season, planting him in a tie for tenth among conference leaders. It's his first home run since March 21 vs. Northeastern.
- AJ Kolb recorded his second three-hit game of the season.
