TOWSON, Md. – For the third consecutive year, the Towson University men's lacrosse team and Loyola played an overtime thriller. This time, the Tigers took the victory 13-12 in double overtime for the team's fifth straight victory.

Mikey Weisshaar. With 2:05 left in the second overtime period, the pair struck again as Scott hit the laser shot to send Towson to the golden goal victory.
The Tigers have won five straight games dating back to March 15.
Key Stats:
- Towson outshot Loyola 40-34, won the faceoff battle 19-to-10 and had 49 ground balls to Loyola's 38. Loyola had 17 saves to Towson's eight.
- Chop Gallagher led the scoring with four goals and an assist while Owen Scott notched a hat trick. Mikey Weisshaar finished with a goal and a career-high four assists.
- On the faceoff-X, Matt Constantinides won 18-for-26 with eight ground balls, including winning both overtime draws.
- The win went to Luke Downs with eight saves and 12 goals allowed. Sam Morin scooped up 11 ground balls while Joe Petro tallied up six ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- For Loyola, Matthew Minicus finished with two goals and three assists. Max Watkinson got the loss on 13 goals allowed despite 17 saves.
How It Happened:
- The first quarter started very chaotically as a Loyola goal in the opening minutes was countered by three straight from Towson. Alex Roussel came from around the cage to score under the crossbar, Owen Scott hit a shot off a pass through traffic, then Mikey Weisshaar scored on a cut in front of the cage. Towson led 3-1 with 7:56 left in the first.
- Loyola took advantage of a man-up opportunity to pull within one. Chop Gallagher struck back, twice bull-dodging his defender to shoot and score for a 5-2 Towson advantage.
- The visitors went on a 6-0 run through into halftime into the opening minute of the third quarter as Towson trailed 8-5. The Tigers stopped the bleeding as Josh Webber hit a shot off a pass from behind the cage.
- With 8:39 left in the third, the teams had a combined three goals in a span of 14 seconds as each side scored a goal off a won faceoff. Ray Glass grabbed a faceoff win and passed off to Ryan Schrier who scored on the doorstep to pull Towson within one at 9-8 with 8:25 left in the third.
- The teams had another exchange of goals, then in the closing minute of the third, Towson's passed around back to Gallagher for the shot and score. The teams were tied at 10 going into the final quarter.
- Schrier again got free on the doorstep off a clear and scored two minutes into the fourth. Loyola countered minutes later and retook the lead with 8:14 to play in regulation.
- Towson picked up a final possession after forcing a shot clock violation. Two timeouts later in the final 10 seconds, Weisshaar drew a double team and dropped off to Scott for the shot and score in the final second to force overtime.
- The Tigers won the opening faceoff of overtime and peppered the goal three times, with Max Watkinson saving each shot. Each side forced turnovers and failed cleared as the two sides went into the second overtime.
- A Ronan Fitzpatrick shot was saved as Loyola cleared, but then turned the ball over. Scott got the pass from Weisshaar for the shot and score from the right side as Towson earned the 13-12 golden goal victory.
