BOX SCORE Hampton, Va. - The Towson University tennis team is on a two-match winning streak after picking up another CAA conference win on the road against Hampton. The Tigers bested the Pirates in a 4-3 decision.
With a clean sweep, Towson secured the point in doubles. In singles play,
Gaia Montecchi,
Ashira Murray and
Sania Suchinsky delivered dominant performances at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. Murray, who led 5-1 in the third set against Hampton's Masa Mitic, saw the score evened before battling back to take the set 7-5 and clinch the overall win for the Tigers.
"The team did a great job of learning from their 4-3 losses last week," said head coach
Jamie Peterson. "Now, we've bounced back with two clutch 4-3 conference wins. Big props to
Ashira Murray for closing out the match for the second time in a row."
