TOWSON, Md – The Towson University softball team played the second of a three-game series against Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) rivals Delaware. A game where both sides stranded a dozen runners on base saw a walk-off double give Delaware a 3-2 win over the Tigers.

Delaware – 36-14, 22-4 CAA

- Towson's Olivia Trombley receives the loss after allowing two hits and one run with one walk and two strikeouts in 2.1 innings out of the bullpen.
- Towson starter Cadence Williams pitched 4.0 innings allowing five hits and two runs with six walks and a strikeout.
- Delaware's Billie Kerwood earns the win after pitching 5.0 innings out of the bullpen allowing two hits and one run with two walks and nine strikeouts.
How it happened:
- Both starting pitchers worked around walks to pitch scoreless innings in the 1st.
- Two more walks brought Elizabeth Yoskowitz to bat with one out in the top of the 2nd who singled to load the bases. With two outs Briyana Wright drew a walk to open the scoring and give Towson a 1-0 lead.
- Delaware's Morgan Hess led off the bottom of the 2nd with a homerun to tie the game. Cadence Williams limited the damage to one run in the inning.
- Both sides stranded runners on base in the 3rd and 4th innings as Williams and the Blue Hen's Billie Kerwood kept the game tied 1-1.
- After Towson stranded two more runners in scoring position in the top of the 5th, Mary Beth Cahalan led off the bottom of the inning with a homerun that went in-and-out of center fielder Kaci Benton's glove. Olivia Trombley then entered to pitch and kept the score at 2-1 entering the 6th inning.
- Jenna Giattino pinch-hit to lead off the 6th inning and drew a walk, and with two outs Kristin Toland hit an RBI triple to tie the game 2-2. Trombley struck out a pair in the bottom of the inning to send a tie-game into the 7th.
- Towson was unable to take the lead in the top of the 7th, in the bottom of the inning Trombley allowed a leadoff single and two batters later Ellie Talley hit a walk-off double to defeat the Tigers by a score of 3-2.

The Tigers and Blue Hens will play the final game of the series tomorrow Saturday, May 3 with the game currently scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
