Towson-Norfolk State to Air on National Television on ESPNU

TOWSON, Md. – The first game of the 2025 season for Towson University will air on national television as the Tigers will take on Norfolk State on ESPNU.

Check your local listings for ESPNU, part of the ESPN family of networks.  The game is set for Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.  For those who cannot watch on television, the game will also be available online on WatchESPN.

This is the third straight year Towson and Norfolk State will play each other.  Last year, the Tigers defeated the Spartans 28-23 in Norfolk on Oct. 12.  The Tigers are back in Norfolk, this time to open the season.

The Tigers had a strong 2024 campaign, earning their first seven-win season since 2019 and winning CAA year since 2018 in the second season under Coach Shinnick.  Towson finished 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the CAA, finishing the year on a three-game winning streak and notching a victory over then top-10 William & Mary.  The Tigers have earned a .500 or better CAA year five of the last six fall seasons.
