PHILADELPHIA – The Towson University women's soccer team took a 2-1 lead into the half but ultimately fell to Saint Jospeh's 3-2 on Sunday.
Kale'a Perry started the scoring for the Tiger in the seventh minute when she drew a penalty kick at the edge of the box before stepping up to convert the penalty. The Tigers took their first lead of the half when
Sophie Thibeault redirected an
Emma Kirkpatrick cross into the back of the net fresh into the 35th minute to give Towson the lead.
Two second half goals from the Hawks allowed Saint Joseph's to take the lead for the 3-2 win.
"The positive is that we are creating a lot of scoring chances. Yet, we still can be more clinical to put a game away," said Towson head coach
Katherine Vettori. "Defensively, we need to be better. Giving up an early penalty is tough. You feel like you're immediately chasing the game. We have got to be more disciplined."
