TOWSON, Md. – An early goal by
Kale'a Perry was all the Towson University women's soccer team could muster against William & Mary on Sunday as the Tigers finish the game in a 1-1 draw, earning one point in the CAA standings.
Perry also drew a penalty kick in the 21st minute which
Emely Rubio took. She ended up having her attempt saved, keeping the score at 1-0. The Tribe scored off a defensive lapse where a poor clear allowed William & Mary to get one-on-one with the keeper to put away the equalizer.
"It's disappointing that we could have gone up two nothing if we would have converted that penalty," head coach
Katherine Vettori said. "That changed the outcome of the game. In the first half it was our mistake that set them up for that goal. In the second half, we fought. I'm proud of that. I'm really happy that Teagan [Gardner] came up with a huge save at the end of the game.
