TOWSON, Md. – Late game heroics from
Jack Doumbia Jr. lifted the Towson University men's basketball team to a 59-58 win over Drexel on Monday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Towson and Drexel played to a score of 13-13 at the 11:12 mark before Drexel rattled off a 17-0 run over the next 7:25 to take a 30-13 lead.
- The Tigers clawed back five consecutive points to bring the deficit to 12, which would carry into the locker room.
- The start of the second half saw no significant runs but did see Towson cut the lead in half to six by the final media timeout.
- Drexel scored the first bucket out of the timeout but Tejada and Williamson got on a roll to cut the lead to two points with 90 seconds left.
- Towson would concede a bucket before Womack pulled a loose ball off the court and finished through contact for the and-one.
- After a missed Drexel three point shot, Doumbia Jr. pulled down the rebound but was tangled up with the Drexel player, earning a 1-and-1 opportunity. He made the first to tie it up and sunk the second to take the lead.
- The next time down the court, Drexel drove at Doumbia Jr. who blocked the shot to seal the win.

- This is the first game this season that Towson have won after trailing after the under four media timeout, with two minutes left and one minute left.
- Towson moves into a three way tie for seventh place in the conference, just 1.5 games behind the second seed.
- Williamson put up double figures in the second half for the eighth time this season.
