ELON, N.C. – The Towson University men's basketball team won its fourth straight game with a 72-59 win over Elon on Thursday.
"We guarded at a high level, we rebounded at a high level and we didn't turn the ball over. Any time you get 15 more shots you got a shot," head coach
Pat Skerry said.
KEY STATS
- Dylan Williamson led the Tigers with 24 points on 6-for-9 shooting from deep.
- Williamson and Tyler Tejada played over 30 minutes with 36 and 32, respectively.
- Caleb Embeya recorded three steals for the second straight game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Towson and Elon played to a 10-7 Phoenix lead before scoring dried up and neither team scored for three minutes.
- The following minutes played even before Towson rattled off an 11-0 run over the next three minutes and 40 seconds to take a 22-15 lead.
- A last second dunk by Jaquan Womack would punctuate a half where Towson entered the locker room up seven.
- The Tigers kept a five to 12 point lead for much of the second half before Elon cut the deficit to four with 7:48 on the clock.
- Williamson answered back on the next possession with a three-point dagger which started an eight point run to put the game away.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Towson held Elon to its lowest scoring half in the first half on this game.
- Dylan Williamson has led the team in scoring nine times this season. This was his second five rebound game this season, his eighth of his career.
- Embeya posted his third game of two or more steals. His most in a single season.

Four players score in double figures for NC A&T in conference play with Lewis Walker leading the way at 17.3 points per game. Zamoku Weluche-Ume (14.6), Dwayne Pierce (13.5) and Trent Middleton Jr. (11.0) join Walker in double figures.
Weluche-Ume leads the team in rebounds per game in conference play at 8.1 with Pierce is tied with Brooklyn Vick in assists per game in conference play with 2.5.
The Aggies are coming off their first win in conference play of the season.
