Tigers Drop Game to Aggies

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Towson University men's basketball team fell to North Carolina A&T (9-10, 2-6 CAA) on the road on Saturday 80-73.

KEY STATS HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Towson conceded the first bucket of the game but then went on a 6-0 run to take an early 6-3 lead.
  • The entire first half was played tight with no team getting greater than a one score lead.
  • NC A&T came out strong in the first half, culminating with a 7-0 run to take an eight point lead after five minutes in the first half.
  • Towson would answer to bring the game back to a four point deficit but a 9-0 Aggie run gave NC A&T a 13 point lead with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
  • The Aggies would extend their lead to 17 before a Tejada three ball punctuated a 9-0 run to bring the game to withing single digits.
  • From this point on, no clear advantage could be gained by either team leading to the seven point loss for Towson.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Embeya posted his third consecutive game of two or more steals. He has put up at least six points, six rebounds and two steals in those games.
  • Tyler Coleman set a new career high in minutes with 30.
UP NEXT
Towson returns home to face UNCW. The Seahawks are currently alone atop a conference that coming into today, only has one game separating the third and 11th ranked teams. UNCW just suffered its first CAA loss of the season with a 77-70 loss at William & Mary. Nolan Hodge leads the team in scoring with 15.2 points per game while Patrick Wessler (13.2) and Maddison Durr (12.2) join Hodge in double figures. Wessler paces the team with 9.3 rebounds per game and Greedy Williams leads the team with 4.0 assists per game. Hodge (34.9) and Williams (34.4) lead the team in minutes per game in CAA play.
