TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set for a pair of dual meets this weekend. The Tigers will first host Georgetown on Friday, October 2 with swimming starting at 3 p.m. followed by 6 p.m. diving. Then on Saturday, October 3, Towson will take a day trip for the first road meet of the year at La Salle at noon.
All Towson swimming & diving home meets take place at Burdick Pool in Burdick Hall, and all home meets are free for the public to attend.
The Tigers began the season last Saturday at Burdick Pool against Delaware winning twelve total events.
Addie Scott led the way for the women winning the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 500 freestyle while also taking part in the 400 freestyle relay win as well.
Maisie Brown won the 200 breast in her collegiate debut while
Bjartey Gudmundsdottir got the win in the 50 freestyle.
For the men,
Jed Garner had two individual wins in the 100 breast and 200 IM while also taking part in the winning 200 medley relay team.
Harry Herrera took the top spot in the 200 breast with
Isak Brkanovic winning the 50 freestyle and
Christian Davidson claiming first in the 1000 freestyle.
Scott swam a personal best 1:56.91 in the 200 free, besting her winning time from the 2026 CAA Championships and moving her to fourth all-time in school history in the event. Her 50.38 in the 100 free improved her to ninth in school history in the event. The senior was named CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.
Lara Booth Alam was the top finishing diver for the Tigers finishing third in the 3 meter dive and fourth in the 1 meter dive. Rookie
Marin Ford earned a top five place in the 1 meter dive while
Liliana Bermudez did the same in the 3 meter. On the men's side
Grady Gardner was the top placer finishing fourth on both boards.
Scouting the Opponents:
The Georgetown Hoyas began the 2026-27 season against William & Mary last week. The Hoyas swept the men's and women's diving events and won five swimming events against the Tribe. The Georgetown men are the reigning Big East Championships while the Georgetown women placed third at the 2026 conference meet.
The La Salle Explorers are making their 2026-27 debuts against the Tigers this weekend. Both the Explorer men and women placed fourth at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championships.
