TOWSON, Md. – Knowing three points would be key in advancing Towson University women's soccer team's chances of advancing to the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships, the Tigers defeated Northeastern 2-0 on Saturday at Tiger Field.
With either a win or a draw in either of the next two matches, Towson will return to postseason play for the first time since the 2023 CAA Championship Team.
"[Emely] Rubio getting two goals today was huge and I think Teagan [Gardner] had a great game in goal. There were a lot of points in the game where Northeastern looked like they were going to score before [Gardner] made a stop and killed their momentum," Towson head coach
Katherine Vettori said.
