NORFOLK, Va. – The Towson University baseball team faced Norfolk State on Friday afternoon at Marty L. Miller Field in the team's season opener.
Towson (0-1) was unable to find its offensive footing in the season opener, falling to Norfolk State (1-0) 2-0.

- Towson's Matt Lynch (0-1) took the loss, allowing one unearned run on five hits in four innings pitched, adding two strikeouts.
- Norfolk State's Ethan Blakeney (1-0) earned the win, tossing five scoreless frames with four hits allowed. Blakeney added seven strikeouts.

- Norfolk State scored the first run of the game in the second inning. Journette singled to left field and scored two batters later on a throwing error from third base.
