TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's lacrosse team faced Georgetown at Tiger Field on Saturday for the team's home opener. The Black & Gold (1-2, 0-0 CAA) fell to the Hoyas (1-1, 0-0 BIG EAST).

- Georgetown's Anne McGovern opened the game with back-to-back goals, followed by a free position score from Molly Davies and an unassisted finish from Reagan Ziegler to give the Hoyas a 4-0 lead heading into the second quarter.
- Ziegler kept the momentum going in the second, scoring just 13 seconds into the period. McGovern followed with her third goal of the game to extend Georgetown's advantage to 6-0.
- Elise Smigiel put Towson on the board with the Tigers' first goal, but Georgetown answered with two more to build an 8-1 lead. Valerie Thompson and Ocea Leavy responded with quick goals to cut into the deficit, but McGovern tallied her fourth of the game to send the Hoyas into halftime with a 9-3 lead.
- Georgetown struck first in the second half, but Katie Roszko answered for Towson to make it 9-4. The Hoyas then added three more goals, including McGovern's fifth, before Luca DeMaio recorded her third goal of the season to bring the score to 13-5. Georgetown closed the third quarter with two consecutive free position goals to take a 15-5 lead into the final period.
